McLaren São Paulo has been named McLaren Automotive Middle East, Africa & Latin American Retailer of the Year 2019 in recognition of its excellent sales performance and highest standards of business operation. The Award was announced at the ceremony held at the prestigious Savoy Hotel in London, and highlights the phenomenal reception to McLaren brand in Brazil, following the first full year of trading.

The McLaren Retailer of the Year Programme has been running since 2015 to distinguish the very best retail locations of McLaren Automotive. The 2019 edition saw entries from the entire McLaren retail network, including 13 from the Middle East, Africa & Latin America region. All contenders were meticulously benchmarked using an extensive assessment process and rated in key areas including sales, customer service, aftersales and marketing.

The announcement coincided with McLaren São Paulo celebrating the first and only delivery of the McLaren Senna GTR destined for a private customer based in Latin America. This extreme track car generates peak downforce in excess of 1,000 kg and has been designed to lap circuits faster than any McLaren outside Formula 1. With 825 PS and lightest dry weight of just 1,188 kg, the 694 PS-per tonne power-to-weight ratio of the McLaren GTR comfortably exceeds every other McLaren Automotive road or track car currently in production.

“We would like to congratulate McLaren São Paulo on winning the title of McLaren Middle East, Africa & Latin America Retailer of the Year 2019.  Receiving this prestigious Award, following their first full year of trading is an enormous achievement, and reflects the highest standards of business operations.  We are delighted to see McLaren São Paulo, setting a new benchmark in our region, and look forward to their continued success in 2020.”
Brett Soso, Managing Director - Middle East, Africa and Latin America, McLaren Automotive.

In 2018, the company launched its new £50m McLaren Composites Technology Centre in the Sheffield region in the North of England that will see it produce the next generation of lightweight carbon fibre ‘tubs’ that are at the heart of all McLaren cars.

2019 saw McLaren launch the 600LT Spider as well as the new GT, the track-only Senna GTR and unveiled the 620R and the McLaren Elva.

To support the development, engineering and manufacture of its range of innovative sportscars and supercars, McLaren Automotive partners with world leading companies to provide specialist expertise, technology and solutions.
