A NEW YEAR AND A NEW LOOK FOR YOUR McLAREN 12C AND 650S WITH NEW ‘MSO DEFINED’ ACCESORIES

- McLaren expands the range of OEM accesory options for all owners of the 12C, 650S and 675LT Super Series Models
- Range now includes a wide selection of carbon fiber accessories produced by McLaren Special Operations under its MSO Defined portfolio
Current and future McLaren Super Series owners can now personalize the design of their cars through a range of dramatic accessories available through the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) “Defined” portfolio. Offered and installed through McLaren retailers, the options can now be widely applied to any McLaren Super Series model from the 12C to the 675LT, and at any point in the car’s ownership. The accessories enhance the dramatic design of the car, and in true McLaren fashion they also frequently offer a performance advantage as a result of weight savings.
Among the exterior offerings in the MSO Defined Super Series collection are a Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser, which reduces weight and enhances airflow, and Carbon Fiber Mirror Arms which can be coupled with matching mirror casings. The range also includes Carbon Fiber Louvered Front Fenders, which take inspiration from McLaren historic race cars, such as the renowned 1970 Can-Am winning McLaren M8D. They feature vented wheel arch liners to remove turbulent air and give more grip over the front axle. Also available is a front hood that is finished in visual carbon fiber for increased impact, as seen on the limited-edition McLaren 650S Can-Am model.
Interior enhancements begin with items as basic yet noticeable as the MSO Defined Carbon Fiber Vent Bezels. Carbon Fiber Sill Tops highlight the driver-focused design of the cabin, as well as protect the sills of the MonoCell tub structure when entering or exiting the vehicle. More likely to interest the track day enthusiasts are a Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel, which can be trimmed in leather or Alcantara®, and extended-length Carbon Fibre Gear Shift Paddles, which offer less reach for gear selection when manoeuvring the steering wheel.

The end of 2015 saw the launch of the fifth model, the 675LT Spider, which was as a direct response to customer demand. The year also saw the end of production for the first model in the Ultimate Series as the 375th McLaren P1™ was completed, closing what had become a defining year for the British brand. 2016 continued where 2015 had left off with the introduction of the 570GT - a second bodystyle for the Sports Series and the most luxurious car McLaren has ever built, as well as the 570S GT4 and 570S Sprint track variants. 2016 also marked the introduction of the company’s new business plan, Track22, which sees the company investing £1B in Research and Development to deliver 15 all new cars or derivatives by the end of 2022, of which at least 50% will feature hybrid technology. The uplift in sales in 2016 also saw the launch of the second shift at the McLaren Production Centre as well as the company’s third year of profitability in just six years of trading.
